Reason #304.5 Why I Love Living in a Small Town

Several weeks ago, I wrote about how my hometown annually elects two Pig Catchers.  As it turns out, this was not entirely true.

Every year at our deliberative session, Hampton Falls elects a couple from town “Hog Reeves and Keepers of the Pound.” According to the 2008 Hampton Falls Town Report, “this 18th century position is usually awarded to the newest resident attending the Town Meeting.” This year the prestigious honor went to Forrest and Charlyn Brown.

We are just that cool.
